Lecture “Experiencia: ARforismos; RA como medio de visualización de un concurso de poesía”, by Ricardo Vidal Lynch, (in spanish):

The “Aphorism” project was born with the aim of providing the university community with a space for simple creativity. Aphorisms are brief sentences or thoughts where much more is condensed or synthesized than what the extension of the aphorism says.

In this context, the Institute of Humanities seeks an alliance with the Faculty of Design, in which the aphorisms serve as an input for very substantive, very striking and very important work of creativity and expression.

For the Faculty of Design and for future UDD design students, this type of project is tremendously enriching, especially in the case of graphic design and this project in particular, working with the Institute of Humanities and with Exploratec, the students managed to exploit their skills and competencies in technological tools to the maximum. We hope you like it.

We worked together with the Institute of Humanities and the Motion Graphics course to generate a visualization platform for student work through augmented reality. This technology allows students and the university community to see the results in a virtual exhibition, given the current pandemic situation.

From Exploratec, we developed the App and participated with the students in classes to support the use of the platform, to scan the images and display the content developed by them.

The result of all these experiences demonstrates mastery of audiovisual language codes. Students manage to apply the fundamentals and tools of design in motion in a project that took them far from their comfort zone on this occasion. They managed to learn remotely the use of new technologies focused on generating innovative experiences, also understanding that they already have this knowledge to be able to exploit this type of tools and others in professional fields.

My experience designing an animation with augmented reality was very interesting, since I had to learn a new platform that was completely unknown to me. I had to be able to control not just the design, but the way it moves in space. In addition, having worked in conjunction with another discipline made everything make a much deeper sense and the experience was much more enriching.

Consuelo, Motion Graphics 2020 student

The project ended with an interactive exhibition at the UDD Faculty of Design, where visitors could scan the aphorisms with their mobile phones and see the result in augmented reality.
